The Association of Mobile money and Bank Agents in Nigeria (AMMBAN) organized her first symposium today Wednesday 31st of July 2019 under the chairmanship of Mr Olowu Babs Azeez , MD/CEO Obat Global Investment Ltd as the state chairman of the association.
The event was tag Agent banking Network : “The Next Level To Enhance Financial Inclusion” and was witness by the major players in the industry and men of the state security officers (Nigeria Police).

The symposium was tailored to orientate , educate and enlighten agents on the subject matter ” Financial inclusion “
The State chairman , Mr Olowu Babs Azezz gave a brief history of financial inclusion in Nigeria as far back 2005 with CBN agenda on Financial System Strategy2020 by encouraging and support products that are specifically targeted at low income and financial excluded people by building institution and framework that promote financial inclusion.
The initiative was to incorporate financial inclusion as one of the cardinal objectives of the Nigeria Financial System Strategy2020.

The FISS2020 represent a holistic and strategy framework and road map for developing Nigeria financial sector into a growth catalyst that will enable Nigeria be one of 20 largest economies by 2020.

In his speech , he highlighted the major financial sectors that provide financial services which are regarded as the suppliers in the value-chain of financial inclusion as follows
Banking institution
Non bank institution
Insurance companies
Capital market player
Pension institution and technology providers with their regulatory bodies are all important to the process of financial inclusion in Nigeria.

He went further to talk about introduction of “Mobile money ” in 2011 to aid and promote financial inclusion and “Agent banking” in 2015 as a result of setback and challenges faced by mobile money.
